Nets vs. Bobcats: New Jersey Has Dreadful Performance In Another OT Loss

After a triple overtime loss to Oklahoma City on Wednesday, the New Jersey Nets played another overtime game against the Charlotte Bobcats Friday and again fell short, this time losing 91-84.

There's not much good to say about the team's performance in this one.

To put it nicely, they were awful.

The Nets shot 32 percent on the night and were at 20 percent on threes. Despite not being able to find the range on the long-ball, New Jersey inexplicably launched it 25 times for behind the arc.

Particularly egregious in this regard was Travis Outlaw, who hit just one three-pointer while putting up eight attempts.

Outlaw has shown the ability to hit from downtown, but not when attempting so many shots. It was apparent early on that his shot was not falling. He needed to be more aggressive and drive the ball, not settle for outside jumpers.

He was still New Jersey's leading scorer with 21, but the only player on this team with any right to take that many three-pointers is Anthony Morrow—statistically one of the best long-range shooters in NBA history.
