Nets Are Heating Up, Win Four Out of Five Games at the Prudential Center

With last night's win against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Nets have improved to 11-11 at home, and have won four of their last five games.

This hot streak started when Mikhail Prokhorov announced that the team was no longer in pursuit of Carmelo Anthony, or as Mr. Prokhorov called him, "Carmella Anthony."

The players kept stating that the looming trade rumors were not affecting their dismal play. Miraculously, after Prokhorov's announcement, however, the Nets have been one of the hottest teams in basketball.

Yes, I know they have been playing subpar teams, but still, if these games were played just one week earlier, who knows what the outcome would have been.

Last night, the Nets did something that they are not known for: They came out and played their guts out in the second half. Usually, they look slow and lethargic during second halves and then make big runs at the end of fourth quarters, where their deficits are usually too difficult to overcome.

The Nets gave up a typical and disheartening 53 first half points, but then amazingly held Randolph, Gay, Mayo and the rest of the Memphis squad to just 35 points during the la ...
