I'm sure most of you are already tired of hearing about the trade deadlines and whether or not teams got the better end of the deal, but the Clippers giving up starting guard, Baron Davis, was one of the bolder moves in these last few weeks.

The fact that Davis' level of play has been much more than exceptional adds on to the question mark as to why the Clippers decided to let him go right now. This may come as a surprise, but this move will help the Clippers in the long run. Davis has no doubt been playing at a high level in recent games and there is no arguing his positive impact on young Griffin, but who knows how long Davis' motivation would have lasted?

When you exchange Davis for a more than solid guard in Mo Williams (who is much younger), one really has to weigh the options.

The Clippers made the right decision trading for Williams, and though the chemistry might not come as soon as Clippers fans want, the prize will be worth the wait.
