NBA Trade Rumors:Carmelo Anthony To the New York Knicks Is Back On

An ESPN report has said the New York Knicks have made significant progress towards acquiring Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets.

A proposed four-team deal which would have sent Anthony to the New Jersey Nets fell apart for reasons yet to be known. What is known is that Anthony did approve the trade and would have welcomed being a member of the Nets.

The Knicks meanwhile have always had a package centered around Eddy Curry's expiring contract and the young athletic power forward Anthony Randolph. Randolph was a center point among the Knicks sign and trade of David Lee and the Knicks have envisioned getting a solid player in Randolph.

The problem for the Knicks has been their limitations due to an NBA rule of not being able to trade No.1 picks in consecutive years. The Knicks have not only worked their way around the rule by being able to acquire someone else's first-round pick, but have also softened their stance of including Danilo Gallinari, according to the report. 

The Knicks would then be able to swing a deal involving one their two promising forwards to acquire a player the Nuggets like more. This is what makes it seem ...
