NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors Won’t See Success Until They Trade Monta Ellis

The Warriors have a great backcourt and David Lee is a decent piece in the frontcourt, but until the Golden State decides to trade Monta Ellis, the Warriors and Ellis will fail to reach their full potential.

There is no reason Ellis shouldn't be an All-Star shooting guard. With over 24 points per game in his last two campaigns, he's a lethal scorer who is grossly underrated.

Why trade such a talented, young piece?

The Warriors need help elsewhere. Ellis has incredibly high trade value and if the Warriors can build a team around Stephen Curry and get away from the "Nelly" ball the team was built around, it will be a giant leap forward.

While other teams make way for blockbuster trades, the Warriors are at a standstill. Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News suggests that until the indecision around Monta Ellis is resolved, progress won't be made on that front.



The Warriors don't need to land a monster fish like Dwight Howard to dramatically improve their situation.
