NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks Still in the Hunt for Carmelo Anthony

According to the New York Daily News, the New York Knicks are still very much in the hunt for Denver Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks are still in the hunt because Anthony's preferred destination is still New York.

Just a few days ago, it seemed as if it was a lock that 'Melo would be traded to the New Jersey Nets, but that deal seems to be falling apart.

Someone close to the negotiations with the Knicks and Nuggets told the New York Daily News that the possibility of the trade going through is "50-50."

In order for the deal to be possible, Knicks Team President Donnie Walsh must find a way to acquire a first-round pick elsewhere, then trade that pick to the Nuggets to get 'Melo. If there is no first-round pick, there is probably no deal.

The Nets possess multiple first-round picks and can offer them to the Nuggets, which made the Nets the front-runner to land No. 15.

However, the Knicks have the talent on their current roster that will get a deal done for 'Melo. In order for the deal to get done, the Knicks would likely have to ship out two of these three players—Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gall ...
