NBA Trade Rumors: Knicks Would Be Crazy to Deal Iman Shumpert to Suns

Iman Shumpert is one of the New York Knicks' most promising young players, so it would be crazy for them to trade him.

In a piece by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, it appears the Phoenix Suns are making an effort to try and make a deal for the young guard:

As the Phoenix Suns try to reshuffle their roster for the future, their front office remains motivated to try to acquire New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Thankfully for the Knicks and their fans, it seems there's absolutely no indication that the team is willing to pull the trigger on such a deal.

Per Wojnarowski's report, the Suns' package will likely revolve around fellow guard, Jared Dudley and a potential first-round pick.

Dudley's numbers are better than Shumpert's this season, as the Suns guard is averaging 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in nearly 30 minutes per contest. Shumpert, on the other hand, is averaging 5.6 points, 1.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game, but he's playing just shy of 19 minutes per game.
