NBA Trade Rumors: Joe Dumars Invited To Carmelo Anthony Blockbuster Deal

Word broke last night that the newest team to be invited as a facilitator of the "Get Carmelo Out of Denver" sweepstakes was none other than the Detroit Pistons.  New Jersey has been in search of a third team to make a deal work for months.  After apparently being rebuffed on multiple occasions, there is now a new suitor in Joe Dumars and the soon-to-be-sold Pistons. 

It should be mentioned that for any deal to go down, Anthony would need to agree to the proposed contract extension.  Should he do so, the Pistons could find a way to get the trade winds blowing and make the changes that so desperately need to be made to get this proud franchise back on track.

The proposed deal left out some particulars that would need to be filled in, but it essentially puts Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups and Anthony on the Nets, Troy Murphy and Johan Petro on the Pistons and Derrick Favors and Devin Harris on the Nuggets. However, this wouldn't work cap wise, so New Jersey would have to include someone like Travis Outlaw to the Nuggets to make the numbers work.
