NBA Trade Rumor: Could Carmelo Anthony Become a Charlotte Bobcat?

Carmelo Anthony has stated his desire to no longer be a Denver Nugget. Is it possible that the former Syracuse standout is on his way to join Larry Brown and Michael Jordan in Charlotte? If you're a Bobcat fan you're hoping MJ makes a strong push for Melo, which I'm assuming at one point he will.

The bigger question right now is if the Bobcats have enough pieces to acquire a player of the caliber Anthony is. Gerald Wallace was a first-time All-Star last season and the 'Cats also have Stephen Jackson. It's highly unlikely Denver would want to take on Jackson because of age and his bloated contract.

Charlotte doesn't have any young pieces in place that would appeal to Denver. Gerald Henderson, Tyrus Thomas, and D.J. Augustin don't exactly seem like players the Nuggets could build around for the future. 

If Jordan is going to bring Anthony to the Queen City it's going to have to be because he wants to play there. Wallace is the only desirable piece the 'Cats have and adding draft picks to the equation most likely won't be enough. Unless Melo forces Denver's hand, and his advisers put pressure on the organization to move him to Charlotte, it's ...
