NBA Trade News: Washington Sends Antawn Jamison To Cleveland in Three-Team Deal

The Washington Post has confirmed that the Washington Wizards have agreed in principle to send Antawn Jamison to the Cleveland Cavaliers.  In return the Wizards receive center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a first round pick, as well as Al Thornton and Brian Skinner from the L.A. Clippers.  The newly acquired Drew Gooden will go from Washington to the Clippers.

They could have given up Jamison for a large No. 3 at McDonald's and gotten a better deal.  This is clearly a move by the Wizards to blow the team up and make a move for a big name free agent this upcoming off season.  

Jamison learned of the trade today, as the Wizards took the court at the Verizon Center against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jamison had changed out of his uniform and was headed for his car.

He made the following statement to fans at the Verizon Center as he was leaving, "I love them more than they love me," he said.

The Wizards did receive a first round draft pick from the Cavs though, giving them some hope for next year.  They're definitely not making the playoffs this year though.  Hopefully after another year or two of rebuilding, they will be a serious co ...
