NBA Trade Deadline Proposition: A Deal That Must Be Made

If the Celtics are truly serious about winning a championship this year, they need to make a trade before the deadline.

There have been Ray Allen and Glen Davis trade rumors everywhere in the newspapers for the past two weeks. Although rumors can only be taken seriously to a certain level, it's time for the Celtics to get serious.

Ray Allen has not been playing as the star-caliber player that he has always been known as. 

Here is the deal that could put the Celtics over the top: Ray Allen and Tony Allen for Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert.

What are the benefits of acquiring Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert? 

The main concern about dealing Ray Allen is how much the Celtics will miss his three-point shooting. By dealing for Iguodala, they would be getting someone who shoots three-pointers worse percentage-wise by two percent. 

Aside from shooting, Iguodala is better than Allen at nearly everything else. He's capable of rebounding at high rates, stealing the ball often, and shutting down athletic wing players.
