NBA Stock Report: The Top Eight Teams and Where They Stand

This is the time of year where every game counts in the NBA, and this week's version of the NBA Stock Report reflects that as the number 3-8 positions are separated by a single game. Cleveland and Los Angeles, the top two teams on the list continued to create distance in their respective conferences, while the rest of the teams have either 20 or 21 losses. With a little over two months left in the regular season the games figure to get tighter, and the results of those contests will have increasingly more impact as the season draws to a close. There were changes in the composition of the list as Atlanta and Boston find themselves at the bottom while the top half of the list is dominated by Western Conference teams. Of course that can change as the difference is basically a matter of percentage points, and teams like the Dallas Mavericks have a legitimate chance of closing the gap. These next few weeks promises to be filled with drama as the top teams try to assert their styles and maintain seeding as one of the top four in each conference.
