NBA Rumors: Top 5 Candidates to Replace Fired Mike Brown as Cavs Coach

The Cleveland Cavaliers front office said it would take a couple of weeks to make a decision about the future of head coach Mike Brown. Well, the verdict came down late Sunday night and Brown is out in Cleveland. Despite a 272-138 (.663) over five seasons, Brown is out after five seasons following another disappointing postseason exit and zero NBA titles. Brown led the Cavaliers to the best record in the NBA in each of the past two seasons, however, the Cavs front office wanted to go another direction. "After a long and deep analysis of all of the factors that led to the disappointing early ends to our playoff runs over the past two seasons, we concluded that it was time for the Cavaliers to move in a different direction," Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert said in a released statement. "The expectations of this organization are very high and, although change always carries an element of risk, there are times when that risk must be taken in an attempt to break through to new, higher levels of accomplishment."
