Seref Yalcin, head of basketball operations of Besiktas Cola Turka, confirmed that an offer was made to acquire the services of the former regular season MVP Allen Iverson.
He stated that the chances of signing the 11 time All-Star is likely. "His NBA career is over" said Yalcin.
"His stock, however, is still high especially in China. He turned a $4 million offer down citing cultural differences."
"His options are either coming to Europe or going to China" stated Yalcin. "We told his manager Gary Moore that he would feel comfortable playing in Europe for Besiktas Cola Turka. The offer is roughly $2 million if he is interested."
Besiktas CT will be competing in Eurocup this season; which is the second tier club-level European basketball competition, THY Euroleage being the highest level. The team will also be competing against the Euroleague powerhouses Efes Pilsen and Fenerbahce Ulker in the Beko Turkiye Basketbol Ligi (TBL) for the domestic title.
