Rajon Rondo beat the San Antonio Spurs by himself tonight, nearly amassing a quadruple double. Rondo is not only the best point guard in the NBA, he is the MVP of the league, and it's not even close.

The MVP award is a value award, not a most outstanding award. This seems obvious, yet people don't treat the MVP as a value award. Fans look too much into stats.

Measuring a player's value cannot be determined solely on numbers found in the statbook. A deeper, more in depth analysis is required to determine the true league MVP.

Rondo impacts every single phase of the game, and does a bit of everything for the Celtics.

He is the best rebounding guard in basketball, and he is a superb defensive player.

After leading the NBA in steals and being selected to the all-NBA defensive first team last season, Rondo finally received the recognition his defensive prowess has deserved.

Rondo is also an amazing passer. He's not the most flashy passer, but he hits guys in the right spot where they can get a good shot off in rhythm.
