NBA Power Rankings: Updated Top 10 Teams in the League

January 21st, 2012 by Bleacher Report Productions Leave a reply »
The NBA season is just about a month old, and what a month it has been.  Some teams have picked up right where they left off at the end of last season, while others have either greatly improved or horribly regressed.

In one strange twist of events, both the Knicks and the Celtics are under .500 and trail the surprising Philadelphia 76ers in the Atlantic Division.  In another surprising divisional race, the Indiana Pacers trail the Chicago Bulls by a very narrow margin and to round out the Eastern Conference, the Orlando Magic are ahead of both the dangerous Miami Heat and versatile Atlanta Hawks.

However, the biggest surprise has to be the success of the once-lowly Los Angeles Clippers, who find themselves in first place thanks to the arrival of perennial All-Star Chris Paul.  The various teams’ successes this season have been so off the hook that NBA columnist Josh Benjamin has had to update his Top 10 teams in the league, and he may be more shocked by the results than anyone.
