The Boston Celtics are entering a new era, but how long will it take to get back to the good old days?

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Jason Terry and all remnants of the contending days are gone. Rajon Rondo is still there, but is he the cornerstone for the next chapter? Will he even be patient enough for the next page to turn?

New coach Brad Stevens faces the upward climb of transitioning from the college game to the NBA, but he must do so with a hodgepodge roster caught between young prospects and "biding their time" leftover vets.

This season will be about evaluating Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk, while figuring out whether MarShon Brooks, Jordan Crawford and others can be helpful. Finally, it's also imperative that the team finds takers for Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Courtney Lee and Brandon Bass.

Can they all stay sane and competitive enough to keep Boston fans happy while not winning enough to thwart their draft lottery chances and long-term plan?
