NBA Playoff Predictions: The Phoenix Suns’ Potential Postseason Forecast

The West has never been this wild. Two games remain in the regular season, and the Suns could still end up anywhere from second to fifth when the playoff seedings are finalized. Knowing at least that much, the field of potential first-round opponents can be narrowed down to only six teams. That isn't to say the Suns should maneuver for a specific matchup; with such a fluid situation holding sway, that'd be nearly impossible. But it's easy to assume some matchups Phoenix would prefer over others. This is especially true given the Suns' penchant for having a key injury just before or during the playoffs (see: Joe Johnson, Raja Bell, Amare Stoudemire). This year's exhibit is the Suns' first decent defensive big man since a svelte Oliver Miller: Robin Lopez. With Lopez out, there are definitely a couple teams the Suns do not want to face, given that his replacements are hard-working but unproductive Jarron Collins and shooting softy Channing Frye.
