NBA Memo To Orlando Fans: Nothing Magical Is Going To Happen

As you all are well aware, on Monday the Orlando Magic defeated the Boston Celtics for the first time this series: 96-92, in OT.

Now Orlando fans, don't get all excited and think something is actually going to happen and that the Magic will have a historic comeback, a la Flyers/Bruins.

Orlando got lucky in Game Four.

Boston came into the game having won six in a row with Rajon Rondo playing unbelievably good, and everyone knows, all streaks must come to an end.

And that's what happened.

Rondo had an off night, which was his first off night this entire post-season. That's impressive. And obviously, if your starting point guard has an off night, then your team might struggle a bit too. But Boston wasn't the only team struggling, Orlando was too. 

Orlando did out-play the Celtics—in the sense that they won the game.

But in reality, Orlando played a sub-par game, just like Boston. Orlando played well in the meaningless times of the game (besides when Jameer Nelson scored those threes in OT), and played poorly in "crunch time," when Boston played the exact opposite.
