If there is a general manager of the season award, may Otis Smith of the Orlando Magic be considered at the top of the list.  He certainly has been the gutsiest G.M. in the NBA for the last two months when you consider his team is a contender and went to the NBA finals in 2009.

At the start of the 2010-2011 NBA season, the Orlando Magic stormed through  December third with a 15-4 record, trailing only San Antonio and Boston.  Miami’s slow 9-8 start had critics who predicted they win 65 plus games reeling.  However, from December 4 through December 17, it’s been the Orlando Magic who'd been reeling and hitting the canvas on more than one occasion.
