While the 2013 NBA draft was written off as one of the worst in recent memory by many observers, the same can't be said for the pending free agent class. This year's crop is easily the best since 2010, when the Miami Heat signed LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Because of that, teams have an opportunity to get better in a hurry.

With so many stars on the open market, it is possible that the NBA's balance of power will shift noticeably in the month of July. Games are obviously won and lost on the court, but the offseason can make a big difference. The Los Angeles Lakers proved last year that being a paper lion means little; however, it seems to work more often than not.
