NBA Free Agency: Paul Pierce’s Top Five Destinations

Paul Pierce’s decision to opt out of his contract and leave $21.5 million on the table was made to bring in more money.

Since when is $21.5 million not enough?  

Hell, if someone gave me $21 million I would quit any resemblance of a job, buy an island, and enjoy life in relaxation.  But that is why I’m not paid this kind of money, because I might make rational decisions.

OK, that might be close-minded, but Pierce had it coming, right?  He left for the money and left his long-time team in shambles.  It’s sad, but the same could be said about half of the players in most professional leagues.  Most just want money–and moves like Pierce’s and Dirk Nowitzki’s, who opted out of a deal worth the same amount of money, have become common in the NBA and around the sports world.

But then again, maybe they just wanted to join in on the fun the free agents are having this offseason?  Or maybe Pierce is done with Boston and wants warmer weather.
