NBA Free Agency: Is LeBron James Next? Amar’e Stoudemire Signs with Knicks

The Knicks just added some bait to lure LeBron James or Dwyane Wade by adding Amar'e Stoudemire to their squad with a reported five-year, $100 million deal.

It won't be official until Thursday.

There's still no clear indication as to where LeBron or Wade are leaning, but the Knicks have greatly increased their chances of getting one of them.

Last season, LeBron expressed his desire to play alongside Stoudemire, but the Cavaliers settled for Antawn Jamison.

LeBron and Stoudemire would make a great duo because they complement each other, as opposed to LeBron and Wade, who essentially do the same thing on the court.

A second option like Stoudemire down low would greatly increase LeBron's ability to make cuts to the basket, which is the strongest part of his game.

If the Knicks manage to pull this off, then they will be a playoff contender in a watered-down Eastern Conference. Suddenly, the Atlantic division gets a whole lot more interesting with the incumbent Celtics.

Stoudemire's addition still doesn't mean anything if LeBron is tied to the idea of playing with Chris Bosh.
