NBA Finals Forecast Part One: Celtics Vs. Lakers

This is part one of a four-part series in which I will analyze every possible NBA Finals match-up.

A possible 2008 NBA Finals rematch is in the works between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Celtics have a dominating 3-0 series lead over the Orlando Magic while the Lakers lost their last game 118-109 at the hands of the Phoenix Suns resulting in a 2-1 series, however Los Angeles still leads. 

If the Celtics and Lakers were to battle for the Larry O'Brien trophy this June, two keys factors will come into play: durability and consistency.

The Celtics are easily the hottest team in the playoffs right now, posting a 10-3 playoff record, while the Lakers are not playing their best basketball as they have shown many weaknesses against only average playoff teams, the most troubling one being their lack of defense.

In order for the Lakers to even have the smallest chance against the Celtics they must improve their defense, as they have allowed 100 points or more in each game against the Suns.
