NBA Draft: Reviewing The No. 1 Picks Of The 2000’s

When a team manages to acquire the first overall pick in a draft, it's generally hailed as the start of a new era in what may have been a struggling franchise. At the very least, the number 1 pick is expected to become the cornerstone of the franchise. Generally, he is also expected to blossom into a superstar of the league. While this does occasionally happen (see the man in the picture), for various reasons, this simply does not happen every year. The 2000s have given the league some terrific players from the number 1 overall pick, however we have also seen some outright stinkers. Let's take a walk down memory lane, shall we?Begin Slideshow
