NBA Draft: Golden State Warriors Win Coin Flip Against Washington Wizards

With their season-ending win against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Golden State Warriors, who had the third-worst record in the league for the majority of the season, lost that spot to the Sacramento Kings while becoming tied with the Washington Wizards for the 4th -worst record (25-57) in the NBA. This would be sure to bring out draft-related disputes, with both teams vying to have more lottery ball combinations for the NBA Draft Lottery this upcoming May.

Well, the dust has settled now.

In an NBA-mandated coin toss, the Golden State Warriors have won the toss and will be ruled as the fourth worst team in the NBA. Given that status, the Warriors, along with the other lottery bound squads, will be vying for the first overall pick in this June’s Draft.

In a season filled with losses and dark disputes, the Warriors have had some bright spots as well, including rookie PG Stephen Curry’s run for the Rookie of the Year, and owner Christopher Cohan announcement that the team is for sale.
