NBA Draft Combine, Day One: Ryan Richards Makes a Name for Himself

The NBA Combine being held in Chicago this weekend may lack the attention of it's NFL counterpart, but it is still an important part of the evaluation process leading up to next month's draft.

On Day One of the combine, televised on ESPNU, the public was able to get an inside glimpse of the workouts usually only privy to NBA GMs, coaches, and personnel.

The combine is similar in nature to the NFL's February event in Indianapolis in the sense that players get measured, undergo physicals, go through individual interviews with different teams, and go through live drills to show off their talents for scouts.

Many of the top names such as John Wall, Evan Turner, Wesley Johnson, and most of the sure fire lottery picks have opted not to go through the workout portion of the combine. However, we were able to see players such as Jarvis Varnado, Patrick Patterson, Paul George, Larry Sanders, Lance Stephenson, and many others sweat it out as they got put through the ringer of drills throughout the workout period.
