NBA Draft 2011 Could Have Kentucky's Brandon Knight Slipping Past Jimmer Fredette

Coming into the season, Kentucky freshman Brandon Knight was considered one of the top high school prospects in the nation.

Nobody doubted Knight could score, but what kept his NBA draft stock lower than a lottery pick throughout most of the year were concerns he couldn't step into a pure point guard role in the NBA.

Well, half a season and a Final Four appearance later, Knight has skyrocketed up most draft boards, ESPN's Chad Ford actually putting him above BYU's Jimmer Fredette, the leading scorer in the country.

Says Ford, who projects the Charlotte Bobcats taking Knight at No. 11, "He's gotten much better and some think he's the best point guard prospect in the draft behind Kyrie Irving."

Knight has explosive speed, something that always entices NBA scouts, and he can finish at the rim among taller defenders as well as knock down the jumper inside the arc.

With two game-winners in the NCAA Tournament, Knight has also shown that he can hit the big shot and the pressure doesn't bother him.
