After torching the Oklahoma City Thunder (43-18) for a game-high 46 points and hitting the game-winning three-pointer in last Saturday’s 121-118 overtime victory as three-point road favorites, reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry just hopes to be on the court when the Golden State Warriors (54-5) host the rematch Thursday night.
Curry suffered an ankle injury in that meeting and missed the following game but figures to be back as Golden State tries to tie the league record for most consecutive home wins at 44.
The Warriors nearly did not have this chance to tie the mark set by the Chicago Bulls during the 1995-96 regular season, needing overtime again to hold off the Atlanta Hawks 109-105 and failing to cover the spread as 5.5-point home favorites at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
They got a team-high 26 points from Klay Thompson, while Draymond Green almost had a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists. Green’s three-pointer in the final minute of overtime helped Golden State escape with its 43rd consecutive home victory.
