The Oklahoma City Thunder (43-20) have dropped six of nine since the All-Star break and will try to win consecutive games for the first time since February 11 when they host the Los Angeles Clippers (41-21) Wednesday.
The Thunder are consensus 5.5-point home favorites at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark and blew a 22-point lead against the Clippers a week ago in a 103-98 loss as 1.5-point road favorites.
To say Oklahoma City has had trouble holding leads lately is a major understatement. The Thunder also led Los Angeles by 16 points with eight minutes remaining and were up by nine in the third quarter in the following game versus the Golden State Warriors before falling 121-106 as 7.5-point road underdogs last Thursday.
Even their 104-96 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks as eight-point road chalk Sunday saw them lead by 21 points in the third quarter and then by only five entering the fourth.
Meanwhile, the Clippers have won two of the past three meetings with Oklahoma City, covering the spread in all of them, including a 120-108 victory as 6.5-point road dogs last March 11.
