NBA All-Star Game: All-Decade All-Stars, Eastern Conference Edition

January 31st, 2011 by Mike MacConnell Leave a reply »
With the 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend just three weeks away, there are some familiar faces on the rosters as well as relative newcomers Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant.

So far, we know the starters for the East and West, but the reserves and East coach have yet to be named.

2011 marks the beginning of a new decade, but I thought it would be interesting to look back at the last decade and fill-out a 10-man roster of All-Stars based on performance from 2000-2010.

This particular list consists of five starters and five reserves from the NBA's Eastern Conference.

Please note that if a player has played in both conferences, he will be chosen for the conference with which he appeared in more All-Star games.

For example, Shaquille O'Neal was selected eight times as an All-Star from 2001-2010—three times as a member of the East and five times as a member of the West. Therefore, there could be more deserving centers based on their Eastern Conference resumes.

*This list encompasses the 2000-2001 NBA season through the 2009-2010 NBA season.
