Monta Ellis, Golden State Warriors One of NBA’s Surprise Teams in 2010

The NBA season has just barely started and while so far most of the talk has been about the Miami Heat’s poor start or the Los Angeles Lakers’ looking strong, there are sure to be many surprising teams this year.

Milwaukee Bucks (4-5)

Although they are not off to a strong start, the Bucks could be a scary team come playoff time.

They have a wonderful core of players with Brandon Jennings at point guard and a healthy Andrew Bogut at center. John Salmons’ numbers are down this year but look for him to get back to form to help in the backcourt. Carlos Delfino is a great role-player, helping with consistent three-point shooting and his abilities to make great steals.

A big move this offseason, in my opinion, was the addition of Corey Maggette. When Maggette is on, he is on. He can provide vital scoring off the bench that could really lift this team above the rest. They do have a void at power forward with Drew Gooden or Luc Richard Mbah a Moute not being the solution, but still they have a good enough core to make a splash in the playoffs.

Memphis Grizzlies (4-5)
