Williams Plans to Complete 2-Year, $4.3 Million Deal

Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com reported the news on Williams, who has a Thursday deadline to opt out of his contract.
Williams' apparent decision to stick around in Cleveland is somewhat of a surprise considering he was phased out of the rotation as the 2015-16 campaign wore on. He played well to start the season while Kyrie Irving was sidelined, but Matthew Dellavedova ultimately passed him on the depth chart.
The 33-year-old floor general was a key cog toward the end of Cavs superstar LeBron James' first stint in Cleveland. His innate chemistry with arguably the NBA's best player had to play a role in his reported decision to pick up his player option.
Despite his lesser role, Williams may still have more to offer in the future. As recently as last January, he scored 52 points in a single game.
