Mo Williams Injury: Updates on Cavaliers Guard’s Thumb and Return

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Mo Williams is dealing with a thumb sprain and will be missing from the lineup for at least one game.

Williams Out vs. Thunder Thursday, Dec. 17 Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com reported Williams won't suit up against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday, as the Cavaliers can't catch a break when it comes to the health of their point guards.

Cleveland brought in Williams to be a stopgap floor general until All-Star guard Kyrie Irving makes his return from a broken kneecap. Now, with Williams out for an undisclosed amount of time, the Cavaliers are down to one healthy point guard left: NBA Finals darling Matthew Dellavedova.    

The 12-year veteran is in the midst of his second go-around with LeBron James in Cleveland. He's been a model of consistency at the point guard spot for most of his career, and that has continued in his first year back in Cleveland since 2010.

Williams is averaging 13 points per game on 47.7 percent shooting. He hasn't shot this well since his final year with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2008, when he shot a career-high 4 ...
