In Kevin Love's first game against his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 125-104, Tuesday night behind 29 points (12-of-19 shooting) and four assists from Kyrie Irving.

Love was steady throughout, though, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes. LeBron James rounded out an excellent all-around effort from Cleveland's superstar triumvirate by pouring in 24 points (8-of-16 shooting, 4-of-7 from three) to go with four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal.

After leading by eight at halftime, the Cavaliers (17-10) ripped off a 16-1 run to close the third quarter and compiled a 45-27 scoring edge over the game's final 15 minutes to run away with a third straight win.

All told, five Cavaliers players finished in double figures, including Dion Waiters (19) and Shawn Marion (11).

Anderson Varejao finished with six points and six rebounds but suffered a left leg injury that forced him to exit in the third quarter. He will be evaluated tomorrow before the Cavaliers square off against the Miami Heat on Christmas Day (5 p.m. ET, ABC).
