Memphis Grizzlies forward Mike Miller exited the team's 96-92 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 17 after suffering what appeared to be a serious ankle injury in the fourth quarter.
Miller sustained the injury while trying to defend a jump shot by Xavier Henry. While attempting to plant to stay in front of Henry, Miller's left ankle bent awkwardly—nearly parallel to the FedExForum floor. The Grizzlies immediately called timeout, and Miller made his way back to the locker room. He did not return, as the Lakers staved off a Memphis comeback.
While the team is yet to give a prognosis on his condition, Pro Basketball Talk's Kurt Helin noted that it looked like Miller would miss much more than the rest of the game:
