Michigan Star Trey Burke Reportedly Declares for NBA Draft

Despite nearly claiming a national championship in 2013, Michigan Wolverines star Trey Burke is foregoing the upcoming season in Ann Arbor.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, Burke will enter the NBA draft:



Burke swept the National Player of the Year awards and was Michigan’s best, most consistent player for the duration of the incredible 2012-13 campaign.

The 6’0” point guard averaged 18.6 points and 6.7 assists on the year, often coming up with huge steals or making big plays down the stretch to close out games.

Perhaps his most memorable moment came during the Sweet 16, when he hit a long three-pointer to put the Wolverines into overtime against Kansas, where Burke would eventually lead his team to victory.



Despite his small stature, Burke is a proven winner and has intangibles that scouts and general managers greatly desire in their floor general.



ESPN’s Chad Ford has Burke landing within the lottery in his latest mock draft, as the U-M star is penciled in at No. 6 overall to the New Orleans Hornets.
