Michael Jordan and LeBron James: How will Jordan’s Shadow Affect James

The name Michael Jordan is one of the most recognizable names in basketball. He had one of the most successful careers in NBA history and, like LeBron James today, was recognized as one of the most popular and best players in the NBA during his time. Now a new super star is considering joining his former Chicago team. LeBron James is a free agent this summer and it has been rumored that he is looking at Chicago, New York, and several other teams to call his new home. There are many reasons why he may or may not choose the Bulls as his new team, and several of these deal with the fact that James would be in the shadow left by the Jordan legacy if he does choose to transfer to the Bulls. In my opinion, the legacy left by Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls is too great for James, and it will keep him from choosing to play for them next season. Most likely, when James goes to choose a new team for next season, assuming he doesn’t stay in Cleveland, it will most likely not be the Chicago Bulls.
