Michael Carter-Williams Injury: Updates on 76ers Star’s Shoulder and Recovery

It’s been an up-and-down offseason for Michael Carter-Williams of the Philadelphia 76ers.    

On the positive side, he received the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award after a fantastic 2013-14 NBA campaign. Unfortunately, Eye on Basketball from CBS Sports had some negative news to go with the honor:



If there is a silver lining to this news, it is that Carter-Williams underwent this surgery very early in the offseason. He is only 22 years old, so the more seasoning he can get under his belt before the 2014-15 campaign begins, the better. Ideally, he will bounce back in time for preseason practices and games.



Carter-Williams’ injury means there are now two recoveries to keep an eye on in Philadelphia.

Last year’s first-round pick Nerlens Noel did not play a single game this season after an ACL tear, but both he and Carter-Williams are building blocks for the future for the 76ers.
