LeBron James had 30 points, Dwyane Wade added 22 and the Miami Heat defeated the New York Knicks, 106-91, at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
The Knicks now have as many losses (28) this season as they had all of last year.
The Heat were in control of this affair for most of the way. Throughout the second half, Miami consistently thwarted New York runs, running off small 4-0 and 6-0 spurts every time the Knicks would inch closer.
The Heat shot 53.9 percent and got a surprise contribution from Shane Battier, who scored a season-high 16 points (11 came in the first quarter).
New York shot the ball well, hitting on 49.3 percent of its shots, but turnovers (17) and inept defense prevented it from having a chance in this one. The Knicks continuously allowed Miami to utilize off-ball cuts to punish them, and they never developed an answer.
New York also struggled from the free-throw line, going only 14-of-23 from the stripe.
Carmelo Anthony led New York with 26 points, although he committed a season-high seven turnovers.
