Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers 1/8/13: Video Highlights and Recap

January 8th, 2013 by Richard Langford Leave a reply »
It is safe to say that the Indiana Pacers have had this night circled on their schedule since the Miami Heat eliminated them from the playoffs a season ago.

The Pacers played with playoff-level defensive intensity as they held the Heat to a season-low in points while earning an 87-77 win on Tuesday night in Indianapolis.

The Heat shot decent enough at 41.2 percent from the field, but they only grabbed seven offensive rebounds. Of course, rebounding has turned into a serious issue for the defending champs, and on the game the Pacers killed them on the boards by the tune of 55 to 36.

Player of the Game: Paul George

George was outstanding as he went head-to-head with LeBron James. He finished with 29 points and 11 boards.

What's Next

This was the first game of a six-game road trip for the Heat. They are now off to Portland for a Thursday night matchup against the Trail Blazers.

The Pacers will host the Knicks on Thursday and the Bobcats on Saturday to wrap up a four-game homestand.
