Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace is lucky to have received only a one-game suspension after his latest violent outburst on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.
In case you missed it, World Peace got wrapped up with Pistons guard Brandon Knight while fighting for a rebound. The scuffle has resulted in a one-game suspension for World Peace, per Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times.
"The NBA on Tuesday gave Lakers forward Metta World Peace a one-game suspension for an altercation with Brandon Knight of the Detroit Pistons."
The Pistons guard who was involved in the altercation believed World Peace threw a punch at him. Here is what Knight had to say about the incident, per Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com:
"The play needs to be reviewed because he definitely threw a punch," Knight told reporters after the game. "It felt like he threw a punch. That's why I reacted the way I did."
Upon looking at the footage, it appears World Peace did his best impression of Mike Tyson and it no doubt forced the NBA's hand to rightfully suspend the troubled forward.
