Memphis Grizzlies Set NBA Record with 1 Free-Throw Attempt, Beat Hawks Anyway

The Memphis Grizzlies set a record Saturday night on which they likely didn't have their sights set.

No team in the history of the NBA had ever won a game while only attempting one free throw. But as they say, records were made to be broken:



According to the Associated Press via ESPN, Zach Randolph said, "Wow! Wow! Wow! That whole game -- wow!" when asked about his team only shooting one free throw.

It's a feat that seems almost unimaginable considering the patented "Grit-n-Grind" style of the Grizzlies that lends itself to physicality. Nevertheless, the officials seemed content to swallow their whistles for this one: 



Despite the adversity, the Grizzlies came out on top thanks to a stellar defensive effort. And that's something that's once again become the norm for Memphis:
