Matthew Dellavedova Injury: Updates on Cavaliers PG’s Hamstring and Return

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova is dealing with a left hamstring injury and won't be in action for at least one game.

Dellavedova Out vs. Hornets Wednesday, Feb. 3 Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal provided the update on Dellavedova ahead of tipoff in Charlotte.

With the knee injury that sidelined point guard Kyrie Irving for the first 24 games of this season, Dellavedova teamed up with Mo Williams to provide a steady presence at the position without Irving.

Dellavedova himself was dealing with bumps and bruises, including a sore calf that saw him sidelined for limited time before this most recent injury. The 25-year-old has posted career-high averages in points and assists this year while bringing an energetic style of play to both ends of the floor.

Getting regular time was also beneficial for the Australian, as he told Lloyd earlier this season.

"I definitely feel as confident as I've [ever] been right now," Dellavedova said. "I try to take what worked in the playoffs and build off that. ... I think I can guard at a high level when ...
