Martell Webster Injury: Updates on Wizards SF’s Recovery from Hip Surgery

Washington Wizards small forward Martell Webster will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 regular season after deciding to undergo hip surgery, according to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post.

Webster Expected to Miss 4-6 Months Wednesday, Nov. 18 Per Castillo, Webster has a partially torn labrum in his right hip, and while that will keep him out for the rest of the regular season, a return for the playoffs is possible.

Webster attempted to grind through the injury with the help of cortisone shots, but he ultimately decided that course of action wasn't working:

We tried everything else and I just wasn't getting the results that I wanted. So I wanted to go out and get it taken care of rather than playing this season in some discomfort and then wait until the offseason to get it taken care of and then rehab the whole offseason and then try to find a rhythm come training camp. I'd rather take care of it now.
