Markieff Morris Won’t Face Charges for May Incident in Philadelphia Airport

Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris will not face charges for a marijuana-related incident that occurred at Philadelphia International Airport in May. 

John Gonzalez of CSNPhilly.com reported Tuesday that Morris' friend was charged instead:



It was initially reported by Gonzalez in May that Morris was detained at the airport after marijuana was found in his bag.

The 26-year-old Morris is a Philadelphia native, and he spent the 2015-16 season split between the Wizards and Phoenix Suns.

After a career year in 2014-15 that saw him average 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game on 46.5 percent shooting, Morris' production dropped off this past season to the tune of 12.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest with a shooting percentage of just 42.5 percent.

Morris starred alongside his brother, Marcus, at the University of Kansas, and his relationship with the Suns soured when the organization traded Marcus to the Detroit Pistons.
