Markieff Morris Injury: Updates on Wizards Forward’s Calf and Return

As the Washington Wizards fight for their playoff lives, they will do so without forward Markieff Morris for at least one game due to a calf injury.

Morris Ruled Out for Sunday's Contest Sunday, March 27 The Wizards were in Los Angeles to battle the Lakers on Sunday, and the team announced on Twitter that Morris would not play due to a calf ailment.

Morris has been a solid role player both for the Wizards and Phoenix Suns this season. The 26-year-old is averaging 11 points per game with the Wizards, and they have used him primarily as a starter since the beginning of March. 

Since the Wizards acquired him at the trade deadline, Morris has been able to stay healthy. His only notable injury scare involved leg cramps during a March 26 game against Minnesota that limited him to less than 10 minutes of playing time. 

During his time with the Suns to start the year, Morris did have some knee and shoulder ailments that kept him out of the lineup. 

With Morris on the sidelines, the Wizards will likely turn to forward Jared Dudley in a more prominent role. S ...
