Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris was detained by police at Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday.

Law enforcement officials said they found what they suspect to be marijuana in Morris' bag, per John Gonzalez of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia.

Gonzalez added in his full report that law enforcement officials said they originally found "a suspicious item" in Morris' checked bag, and as they did a secondary search, they discovered the "suspected marijuana."

According to Gonzalez, after law enforcement discovered the alleged drugs, airport security notified Tinicum Township Police. Morris was taken to the precinct in Delaware County for questioning before "being released on his own [recognizance]."

Gonzalez cited a Tinicum Township police spokesman as saying the investigation is "ongoing."

The 26-year-old Morris appeared in 27 games for the Wizards after being acquired in a midseason trade with the Phoenix Suns. He was the 13th overall pick by the Suns in 2011 and has a career average of 11.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
