Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers will miss the team's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves after suffering a right knee injury, the team announced Thursday.

Chalmers Dealing With Swelling in Knee Thursday, Nov. 5 Swelling has emerged in Chalmers' right knee, the same one he had surgery on this summer, according to Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald. 

Miami re-signed Chalmers to a two-year, $8.3 million deal prior to the 2014-15 campaign, but he struggled during his seventh season on South Beach.

Tyler Johnson will likely recieve more playing time in Chalmers absence. 

In 80 appearances (including 37 starts), Chalmers averaged a career-high 10.2 points per game but shot just 40.3 percent from the field and a career-worst 29.4 percent from three-point range. Chalmers' player efficiency rating also dropped to 11.7 (per Basketball-Reference), which was the lowest mark he had posted since the 2010-11 campaign.
