San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili left Tuesday (Jan. 28) night's game against the Houston Rockets and will not return after sustaining a left hamstring injury in the third quarter.
Paul Castro, the team's Spanish play-by-play announcer, indicated that it wasn't anything serious but merely tightness in his bothersome hammy:
While not considered serious at the moment, the recurrence of hamstring tightness has to cause worry in San Antonio. Ginobili missed two games earlier this month after sustaining an undisclosed injury in the fourth quarter of the Spurs' 110-108 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 7.
He's since returned for each of the past eight games and shown no sign of injury, though the 36-year-old guard's performance has been down of late. Ginobili scored only 17 total points in San Antonio's last four games coming into Tuesday night, including three points on 1-of-7 shooting in the team's nationally televised loss to Miami over the weekend.
